Ed Newton
Ed Newton was raised in a deaf world. The only child of two deaf parents, Ed was the voice in the silence for his parents Ron and Libby Newton. Through difficult circumstances and major hardships Ed was radically saved in high school. It was through the spoken word of others and the written Word of God that clarified a call to ministry as a senior in high school. God began to show forth His sovereign will in leading Ed to Clearwater Christian College to gain a Bible education, while affording the opportunity to play college basketball for four years. Ed continued his education journey by receiving a Master in Religious Education from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, a Master of Divinity from Trinity Theological Seminary, and a Doctorate of Ministry in Pulpit Communication and Expository Preaching from Trinity Theological Seminary.
He and his wife, Stephanie (college sweetheart), and their four children London, Liv, Lola and Lawson reside in San Antonio, TX where Ed serves as the lead pastor of Community Bible Church.
CBC Worship
CBC Worship is the worship ministry of Community Bible Church in San Antonio, TX. We seek to engage our congregation in singing because we believe there is power when we worship. We believe that our worship is a weapon against the enemy, a means to fill our hearts with God’s word, and displays the power of the gospel to the broken world around us. We want our singing to be filled with truth about God’s character, His word, and His works. We want our singing to remind us of our new identity in light of the finished work of the cross. We understand that because our songs and exhortations put theology and prayer into the mouths of our congregation, every word we choose to sing or speak matters.
Our true worship is everything that we do in mindfulness of a loving Father, in acknowledgement of His present Spirit, and in response to His the radical love and mercy of Jesus. Singing is certainly a way to worship, but it is not the way. Our worship is found in the way that we live our lives in fellowship with Christ and the way we demonstrate His love to others. There is a sweeter melody than any song we could ever sing; it’s our whole life set at the feet of King Jesus.

TRANSPORTATION
We recommend you have transportation available throughout your week at camp. Most hotels & condos properties will require group leaders to provide transportation to the Event Center. If you plan to bringing buses, we recommend you have a standard size vehicle to use for those late night runs to grab ice cream for your awesome adult leaders or any other unexpected situations that may arise. Please also note that most beachfront condos do not allow bus or trailer parking.SLEEP

For the past several years we have worked to provide meal options at Beach Camp.Due to increases in costs of food and labor, we’ve determined it would be difficult to offer an acceptable quality and quantity of food at a price point that would be reasonable for you to pay for the summer of 2022.
We understand this may come as a disappointment. Our goal in providing meals has always been to make your camp experience as easy as possible. However, we never want to make a promise that we can provide an affordable, quality option when we continue to get disappointing responses from catering companies on what they are able to provide.
We are working on some information to include ideas and options that may help make meals at beach camp as easy as possible. We are working on compiling options and ideas to help you dream up a better and more affordable week of camp for your students.
The Wharf Restaurant Group has prepared a proposal for Lunches and Dinners for our groups! Please contact them directly to work out details, number of people and buffet or boxed meal options.
Some local favorite restaurants include: The Hangout, Tacky Jack's, Lucy Buffett's LuLu's, Moe's Original BBQ and a picnic at one of the State Parks.
